Long-acting Antiretrovirals for Treatment and Prevention: Promises and Pitfalls

Module Description  Designed for the HIV healthcare professional, this webinar will look at the emergence of long-acting HIV treatments and how they present both promising opportunities and potential challenges in the management of HIV. Our aim is to explore the best practices in incorporating these treatments into clinical practice, as well as to discuss potential pitfalls and strategies for mitigating them.

Learning Objectives
  • Discuss the use of long-acting ART in people with HIV with virologic suppression.
  • Evaluate emerging data on long-acting ART in people with HIV with adherence challenges.
  • Compare and contrast long-acting options for pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP).
  • Describe upcoming options for long-acting ART and PrEP in the future.

Target Audience This activity is intended for physicians, PAs, NPs, RNs, and pharmacists who are engaged in the care of people with HIV.
