HIV Decriminalization and the Importance of Effectively Communicating U=U

Learning Objectives:
  • Delineate the differences between legislation to criminalize the transmission of HIV
  • Describe how criminalization efforts can hinder HIV testing 
  • Incorporate into practice U=U (Undetectable is Untransmittable) messages for people with HIV
  • Identify opportunities to advocate for removal of state and local HIV criminalization laws.
